His career began as an avionics technician in the UK Royal Air Force, where he progressed to being commissioned as an Aerospace Engineering Officer. His military service covered a wide range of roles, from fixed to rotary wing operations, and included work on the flight line as well as with industry and project teams.
“I am truly honored to have been offered the opportunity to join and represent Field Aerospace as their new President, and work with a dedicated team who are committed to the critical work they undertake while helping to bring forward new opportunities for growth across the company's entire portfolio,” said Bonfield.
Following his retirement from the military, Bonfield held senior-level roles in the civil sector. Notably, he was nominated as the PRM/SMM for programs such as the NATO Flying Training Program and Canada’s CH149 Cormorant Fleet, where he achieved impressive average availability rates.
Prior to joining Field Aerospace, he was Heli-One’s Director of Strategic Programs, concentrating on US FMS and other foreign government rotary support contracts.
John Mactaggart, Field’s CEO, commented on the appointment: “We are excited to bring Jason on board. His experience, skill, and energy will ensure that Field’s Toronto division remains a world leader in aviation.”
Brian Love, who formerly held the position, has been promoted to Group President and will be overseeing efforts across the entire company.
