Field Aerospace Awarded New T-1A Project, Strengthening Support to U.S. and FMS Partners

Field Aerospace has been awarded a new contract to support the T-1A Jayhawk, marking the kickoff of a multi phase effort for an international FMS customer. This award launches the first stage of a larger program tied to the Air Force’s initiative to repurpose retiring T-1As under the Excess Defense Article framework.

As part of Phase I, Field will conduct pre arrival inspections on four selected T-1A aircraft, then induct and store them at its Oklahoma City facility in preparation for the more extensive Phase II maintenance and refurbishment work to follow.

We are excited to assist the Air Force and our foreign partners in this effort,” said Josh Culver, Sr Director of Business Development. “This project draws on our extensive experience with the T-1A. Our team has worked on these exact aircraft before, and we are excited to see them back in our hangars.”

Previously, Field completed flight deck upgrades on 73 T-1As through the Air Force’s Avionics Modernization Program. The T-1A Jayhawk is a twin engine, medium range jet trainer used to prepare pilots for airlift and tanker platforms such as the KC 135, KC 46, and C 130.
